Today (4/8/2005) I was
out with the UWSP Fisheries Society doing there annual Spring
Fish Survey. Water temps on the Main Channel were 38' to 40' Backwaters
were 46' to 48'. A lot of Crappie's and Bluegill's in 5 to 7 feet
of water, along with Northern's up to 39'. Biggest Walleye in
the Fyke nets was 26'. Best action fishing for Walleyes was Shallow
Rocky Shorelines, Points and Eddie's areas with a 1/8 to 1/4oz
Jig's and Minnow. Walleyes are still PRESPAWNED. Get your boat's
out of Storage Folks as the fish are Biting and it's only going
to get Better.
Boy do these guys work hard.
